Enhanced Nitrogen and phosphorus Recovery from wastewater and Integration in the value Chain – LIFE ENRICH

life p

The LIFE ENRICH project, launched in 2017 and expected to last for three and a half years, provides a solution for the recovery of nutrients from wastewater to be used as fertilisers. In a Circular Economy model, the recovered nutrients will be analysed in depth and mixed as required to obtain the best products for a range of crops.

With the cooperation of the public administration, WWTPs, universities and technologies from different sectors, the entire nutrient recycling value chain will be analysed in the project in order to demonstrate the new model’s technical, financial and environmental feasibility. In the second stage, the possibility of replicating the initiative in other EU countries will be assessed.
